2008 Bill Moon Scholarship Application

Good luck to all who sent in an application! The NATSO Foundation will notify winners in two to three weeks. All applicants will be notified by mail in the near future.

Through the years Bill Moon made substantial contributions to NATSO (the professional association of America's travel plaza and truckstop industry), actively supporting and participating in industry-related government affairs issues, serving as Chairman of NATSO in 1989, and becoming the first Chairman of the NATSO Foundation in 1990.

Moon lost his battle with cancer in 1992, but left a legacy that is carried on today by Carolyn and the Moon children. The Iowa 80 Truckstop is not only the nation’s largest truckstop; it is also among the most modern, providing professional rivers and the traveling public with all the conveniences of home in an atmosphere which is uniquely its own.

Propelled by grants from the Mason-Dixon Truck Stop Operators Association and the Northeast Truckstop Operators Association, the NATSO Foundation began awarding scholarships to travel plaza / truckstop industry employees and their legal dependents in 1993. Fittingly, the scholarship program was named in memory of Bill Moon.
